FAQ’s

Are you accepting new patients?
Certainly. Whitehouse Family Dentistry is always accepting new patients. We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your oral health goals.

Will you care for my kids and grandparents?
Whitehouse Family Dentistry offers a wide range of services designed to suit patients age five and up. Our preventive services, including dental sealants and fluoride treatments, are perfect for children, whereas our older patients often benefit from restorative dentistry or modern tooth-replacement solutions. Dr. Hamons and Dr.Peters offer state-of-the-art restorative services, such as custom dentures and dental implants. We’re committed to excellence in all phases of family dentistry, including pediatric dentistry and complex reconstructive procedures.

I have trouble relaxing at the dentist. How can you help?
One of the most rewarding things we can do for our patients is to help them overcome their dental fear. Sometimes, all it takes is a gentle approach and open line of communication. Others need a little extra help relaxing, and there’s nothing wrong with that. The dentist can administer Nitrous Oxide while your dental treatment is performed. This will reduce if not eliminate the anxiety that frequently accompanies a dental visit.

What is TMJ disorder?
TMJ disorder is a condition that affects the temporomandibular joints, which hold the jaw to the skull. The joints work in tandem with the facial muscles and nerves to allow for a full range of motions while chewing and speaking. Sometimes, these joints become misaligned, resulting in headaches, jaw pain, and difficulty opening and closing the mouth. Dr. Hamons and Dr. Peters can create a custom nightguard to help alleviate the symptoms of TMJ disorder.

Can you help with snoring?
Absolutely. Snoring is a common problem that results from blocked airways. In some cases, patients who snore have a condition called sleep apnea, which means they stop breathing several times throughout the night. This serious condition has been known to increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. The good news is that snoring and sleep apnea can often be treated with a dentist-made oral appliance, which resembles an athletic mouthguard and is worn at night. Working in conjunction with Sleep Specialists, Dr. Hamons and Dr. Peters can help you get the relief you need.

Do you see new patients with emergencies?
Yes, of course. We reserve time during our regular business hours to see patients with dental emergencies. We understand that emergencies happen at inconvenient times, and we’ll do our best to solve the issue and turn your mishap into a pleasant experience.
